Advanced Customization Capabilities
We can achieve your precise design and performance characteristics in even the most challenging projects.
We can meet nearly any thickness requirement
We can make custom sheets in nearly any thickness up to .75". Or choose from one of our eight standard thicknesses (shown below) ranging from .010" (25mm) to .134" (3.4mm).
Our very thinnest carbon fiber veneer. A thin, very flexible carbon fiber veneer used over other substrates such as aluminum or MDF. It can be wrapped around a 1-inch diameter pipe and can be cut with a pair of scissors or razor knife. An ideal choice for a smooth, flat surface.
Our standard thin sheet. A fairly flexible carbon fiber veneer, used for projects with a stiff panel or substrate. It will wrap around a 4-inch diameter pipe and cuts with a pair of good scissors or sharp razor knife. The added thickness and rigidity of this veneer covers slight imperfections in a substrate that might show through if covered by a .25mm sheet.
A medium thickness sheet. A flat panel with some flex, this panel works well as a semi-rigid veneer or a light structural material. It can be bent around a 10-12-inch diameter pipe. This panel can be cut with a razor knife using multiple scoring actions or an abrasive cutoff wheel. Edges can be cleaned up using 220 grit sandpaper for a soft, smooth feel.
A stiff sheet. With only slight flexibility, this carbon fiber panel is commonly used in light structural parts or dash panels to support gauges and controls. It can be cut with a carbide router/CNC bits or abrasive cutoff wheels. As with all carbon fiber products, continuous rim, non-toothed blades work best.
A very stiff structural panel. This carbon fiber panel is semi-rigid with just a little flex. It can be cut with a carbide bits or abrasive cutoff wheels.
A structural panel - very rigid. This carbon fiber panel is built for light structural components and is ideal for robotics, UAV and quadcopters, etc.
A structural panel - 1/8" thick and rock solid. This carbon fiber panel is most often used for structural parts and components, as well as knife handles and a variety of applications requiring high strength and light weight. It can be cut with a carbide saw or abrasive cutoff wheels.
A thick structural plate made of ProPlate, a 100% carbon fiber fabric, stitched together in thick layers. The added efficiencies of this pre-stitched material allows us to offer it at a lower price than our regular stock. You’ll get the same performance as our standard product at a reduced cost.
Fabrics and finishes to fit your need
High-gloss, satin, semi-gloss, and matte finishes are available in the classic 2x2 twill weave configuration or a plain weave.
About your adhesive options
When it comes to adhesive, we choose to use a high-performance, high-temperature double-adhesive film made by 3M that withstands heat to 600 degrees F. However, there are other good options on the market. Here's our review of the best:
Our preferred adhesive
Our favorite adhesive is 3M 468MP film, available through our website. We like this adhesive for its clean, easy application. It comes with a two-sided paper backing – just peel off one side of the paper backing and apply it to your carbon fiber. Peel off the second side and apply it to your application. Done.
Alternative options
Contact cement, water-based epoxy resin, or any standard laminate countertop adhesive are also good adhesive options for carbon fiber. One practical tip -- be sure your adhesive is completely dry before applying it your piece to its surface. Any trapped moisture will react with the resin and cause bubbles over time.

Machining
Best in class machining delivers precision cuts
Whether you need one part or 1,000, we have the tools and equipment to make precise cuts to the most stringent requirements. With three CNC machines available to accommodate varying needs, our in-house machining team can cut your carbon fiber parts to a tolerance of 0.005” to ensure a perfect fit every time.
